Glaphyria stellaspina is a moth in the Crambidae family. It was described by Solis and Adamski in 1998.[1] It is found in north-eastern Costa Rica.
The length of the forewings is 5.7-6.1 mm. The antemedial and subterminal fasciae of the forewings are brownish-orange, except for the costa, which is yellow. The basal fascia is white, with two yellow costal streaks. The hindwing have white scales basally and pale yellowish-orange scales distally up to the wing margin. The marginal scales are brownish orange.
Etymology
The species name is derived from the spines with a stellate-shaped base on the corpus bursae and is derived from Latin stella (meaning star) and spina (meaning spine).[2]
