Global Trust Council

The Global Trust Council is a non-profit, independent and international organisation which creates frameworks for digital transactions. Its headquarters are located in Malmo, Sweden. Its aim is to enable verifiable identities and transactions, while privacy and digital property rights are protected.

GTC supports businesses and governments to develop policy, best practice and guidance to promote and enable trust in digital interactions and communications.[1]

Structure

GTC is managed by the GTC Secretariat, which comprises six members. In July 2009, Andre Laperriere became Director General of GTC. Previous to this role Laperriere was Executive Director at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.[2]

GTC also has an International Council, which was originally set up in 2003 and had governance structures upgraded in 2006 and 2007.
