Arthroschista hilaris, the kadam defoliator, is a moth in the Crambidae family. It was described by Walker in 1859.[1] It is found in India, Sri Lanka, Burma, Cambodia, Sumatra, Borneo[2] and in Australia, where it has been recorded from Queensland.
The wingspan is about 30 mm. The wings are green, the forewings with a brown line along the costa with two brown dots. The hindwings have brown dots along the margin.
The larvae feed on Neolamarckia cadamba. They have a yellow body with a brown head. Pupation takes place on the ground amongst litter.[3]
