Goddess on the Throne
Goddess on the Throne is a terracotta figurine found at the site of spinning mill, near Pristina, Kosovo, in 1956. The archaeological work of the Belgrade National Museum was led by the curator Radoslav Galović. It is a well-preserved specimen of small plastic Neolithic Vinca culture (18.5 cm high), which was four millennia before Christ. It was vested at the time to the Museum of Pristina for safekeeping. Because of its value, for decades its logo was used as a trademark of this institution.
