Gohad (Vidhan Sabha constituency)

Gohad Vidhan Sabha constituency (Hindi: गोहद विधान सभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र) is one of the 230 Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. This constituency is reserved for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled castes.[1] It came into existence in 1951, as Gohad Mehgaon, one of the 79 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the erstwhile Madhya Bharat state.[2]

Overview

Gohad (constituency number 13) is one of the 5 Vidhan Sabha constituencies located in Bhind district. This constituency covers the entire Gohad tehsil of the district.[3]

Gohad is part of Bhind Lok Sabha constituency along with seven other Vidhan Sabha segments, namely, Ater, Bhind, Lahar and Mehgaon in this district and Sewda, Bhander and Datia in Datia district.[3]
