Gonystylus forbesii grows as a tree up to 55 metres (180 ft) tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 80 centimetres (31 in). Bark is greyish brown. Its flowers are reddish yellow. The fruit is dark brown, up to 4 centimetres (1.6 in) long. Its habitat is forest from sea-level to 1,200 metres (3,900 ft) altitude. G. forbesii is found in Sumatra and Borneo.[1]
