Gonzalo Aemilius (born 1978 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan Roman Catholic cleric.
Biography
Aemilius grew up in a middle-class family and attended a Catholic school in Montevideo. When he came of age he discovered his vocation for a religious career.[1] After being ordained priest, he was appointed principal of the Liceo Jubilar Juan Pablo II in 2005; his contribution was vital for the development of this Roman Catholic institution devoted to poor children. At the end of 2012 he was removed from the position and sent to the parish of Puntas del Manga to start a new work.[2]
He has a yearlong relationship to Pope Francis, who was an important supporter of the Liceo Jubilar years ago when he was Archbishop of neighboring Buenos Aires.[3]
