Gota is a census town in Ahmedabad district in the Indian state of Gujarat.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Gota had a population of 13,837. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Gota has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 64%. In Gota, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
History
Gota is a village like part of Ahmedabad city. New Sarkhej Ghandhi Nagar highway developed and Gota got connection with Highway which brings different infrastructure companies started investing in it and building new apartments and housing. Now it is in the center of the city. Gota is a residential cum commercial area in Ahmedabad City. It is a very good locality and well connected with the other areas of the Ahmedabad city. It is well connected by buses and public transports. School, bank, ATM and hospital are available nearby the locality. Gota get isolated in monsoon when there were heavy rains.
The major localities in Gota are new SG highway road, Vandematram city and some developing major residential schemes. Gota has a variety of population.
