Govt Senior Secondary School, also known as GSSS, in Meethari Marwar[1] Tehsil Ladnun (Distt. Nagaur, Rajasthan) is a boarding school in India. Earlier it was known as Darbar Lower Primary School Hindi School. The school is one of oldest schools along with a few other schools in Nagaur district.

GSSS was established in 1929. The school, the oldest Shree Darbar Lower Primary Hindi School, was started as a Pathshala in 1929, by His Highness Maharaja of Jodhpur for the education of village's poor pupils. Raised to middle school in 1951 after India's freedom, the school became a pioneer by extending the benefits of education to the people of almost 30 nearby villages and outlying areas. It grew into a high school (1966) and later on into a senior secondary school in 1995. The school was named as a government senior secondary school.[3] The school is managed and run by the State Education Department of Rajasthan.

The school was affiliated to the RBSE.[4] The institute is monitored by District Education Officer for secondary education Nagar under Education Department of Rajasthan state government. The school has permanent recognition for a 10+2 level from Government of Rajasthan and Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan.

Information

The school offers Science, Commerce and Humanities faculties to its students. There are classes from 9 to 12. It has approximately 450 students. It has facilities like horse riding, NCC(Naval, Army wings) science, pottery, photography and philately and science clubs. The school has separate grounds for basketball, football, bolyball, cricket, athletics. It has some other activities as co-curriculum like Scouts and guides, Cub and bulbul, cultural groups, SPW (social productive works) and social services, nss and career guidance. The school has a well-managed and fulfilled library where thousands of books of all subjects are available.

Curriculum

Secondary Section (classes IX and X The specialized teaching of two languages i.e. English & Hindi, math, science, and social science are the main subjects along with SUPW (Music/Dance/Art/Craft), games, computer skills, environmental education.

Senior Secondary Section (classes XI & XII): Science with Math, Science with Biology, Commerce with or without Math and Humanities stream with Hindi and English as two main compulsory subject. Science with math, science with biology, commerce with or without math and humanities stream with English as first main compulsory subject. Optional subjects include Mathematics, Informatics Practices and physical education. Work experience, general studies, health education are offered as compulsory internally assessed subjects with other five main subjects. List of available optional subjects for all three streams: Science (Math): Math, Physics and Chemistry. Commerce : Accountancy, Business Administration and Economics. Humanities : Hindi Lite., History and Political Science.
