Grace Chan (Chinese: 陳凱琳) (born 23 June 1991) is a Hong Kong-born Canadian actress and beauty pageant titleholder. She is the winner of Miss Chinese International Pageant 2014 and Miss Hong Kong 2013 Beauty pageants.[1][2]

Because of her facial features, Grace was speculated to be a mixed Chinese. Grace clarified that both her biological parents are ethnically Chinese.[3][4][5]

Miss Hong Kong

Right from the beginning of the pageant, Grace expressed that it was her childhood dream to enter the Miss Hong Kong pageant. After completing her university studies, Grace immediately returned to Hong Kong for the pageant; she even sacrificed her own graduation ceremony in Vancouver.

This year's pageant voting system differed from the past as the committee introduced a one-vote-one-person from Hong Kong citizens which would account for 50 percent of the final score; the other 50 percent was awarded by the panel of professional judges.

As an early favourite, Grace beat the other nine contestants by gaining a majority of the 170,000 votes that were cast from the Hong Kong audience.[6]

Finally, after various rounds she was crowned the 2013 Miss Hong Kong winner on September 1, 2013.

Miss Chinese International

Organizers this year decided to change the formula of the competition and introduced an elimination round after nearly every segment.

Not only did Grace Chan represented herself well in the pageant, she is also the 3rd representative from Hong Kong to have held both titles, the last title belonging to Sonija Kwok 14 years ago.

Personal life

She born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia at the age of 5, Grace graduated from Simon Fraser University with a major in Communications[7] and a minor in Publishing.

Grace has a fraternal twin brother and an older sister.[8]

Grace is used to hearing it claimed by Hong Kong netizens that she has an Indian bloodline, but she has denied this and has asserted that her ancestry is a hundred percent Chinese.
