Gramps Morgan
Roy "Gramps" Morgan (born 1976), son of well-known reggae artiste Denroy Morgan, is a reggae singer & instrumentalist. Following in the steps of his father, he became part of the reggae band formed in 1994 together with 4 of his siblings called Morgan Heritage. The other band members are Peter Morgan, Una Morgan, Nakhamyah "Lukes" Morgan and Memmalatel "Mr. Mojo" Morgan. Gramps Morgan plays the keyboard in the band and is also a back-up vocalist to Peter Morgan, the main vocalist. For over two decades, they have had a number of successful reggae albums.
Aspiring for a solo career, Gramps Morgan released his debut solo album entitled Two Sides of My Heart, that earned him a number of nominations for awards. In 2009, he was also featured in the India.Arie song "Therapy" that charted in the United States. His second solo album, Reggae Music Lives, was released in 2012.
Personal life
Gramps Morgan married Carolice Morgan and together they have six children. However all together 'Gramps' has 9 children. Jemere Morgan, his son, has followed in the steps of his father and grandfather by launching a career in music as well.[1] Jemere Morgan released his first single "First Kiss" on August 28, 2011. It is available on iTunes and on Dada Son Entertainment, the same label to which his father his signed. Jemere recently toured in Europe with Peter Morgan and Gramps Morgan, and opened for them throughout the tour.
