Grant Thomson
Grant Thomson is a Scottish actor whose notable roles include parts in Still Game for BBC Scotland, Made of Honor for Columbia Pictures, The Saturday Show for the BBC and the final of Comic Relief Does Glee Club 2013 which was also for the BBC.
Early life and education
Born in Falkirk, Grant was raised in the village of Brightons which is 3 miles east of the town. Grant has a diverse background in television, theatre and film. Upon leaving Graeme High School, he enrolled on the HND Acting and Performance course at Falkirk College of Further and Higher Education. While at college the 6'8" 'actor would spend most of his evenings and weekends travelling to Glasgow to rehearse and perform in musicals with The Pantheon Club and the Apollo Players at the King's Theatre, Glasgow.
Career
Notable roles include parts in Still Game for BBC Scotland, Made of Honor for Columbia Pictures, The Saturday Show for the BBC and the final of Comic Relief Does Glee Club 2013 which was also for the BBC. As well as clambering out of a Mini in an advert for ASDA Car Finance, Grant has also starred in Scottish Indie film Electric Man and feature film Play On which won Best Feature Film at the All Sports Los Angeles Film Festival. Grant has recently worked on Scrotal Recall for Clerkenwell Films which will be shown on Channel 4 this Autumn.
For Falkirk's Sake
In 2014 Grant was one of the founder members and organisers of For Falkirk's Sake, the towns first artist led festival which attracted names including Alan Bissett and Janet Paisley as well as The National Jazz Trio of Scotland featuring the legendary Bill Wells. When discussing the event Grant said “The social impact that this event has had on the community is inspiring.”
Personal life
Grant married his wife Christine in Aberdeen in March 2011.
