Greater Brisbane League 2008–09

The Greater Brisbane League 2008–09 season is annual summer baseball competition of South East Queensland run by Baseball Queensland.

Juniors

U-20

The current U-20 competition has all 13 Major League clubs as well as a second Surfers Paradise team. These teams are named Surfers Sharks and Surfers Dodgers. There is no Northside/Southside ladder or weighting of fixtures, but Windsor Royals, Pine Hills Lightning and Hendrea All Stars are considered Northside teams for the All-Star games.

All-Star Teams

The U-18 All-Star team was named on 8 December 2008 with a Northside and Southside team. However, particularly strong players competing for position were able to be switched regardless of teams. Although it is named the U-18 All-Star team, a few players from the U-20 GBL competition have also been chosen. They will play on 20 December 2008.[1]

U-16

The current U-16 competition has two divisions, with all Major League clubs fielding in at least one team in either division. Exceptions are Surfers Paradise who field two division 1 teams, Redcliffe Padres who field a division 1 and two division 2 teams. The only Minor League club in the U-16 competition is Carina Redsox, who field a division 1 team.

Much like the U-20's competition, there is no Northside/Southside ladder or weighting of fixtures, but Western District Bulldogs, Pine Hills Lightning and Windsor Royals are considered Northside teams for the All-Star games.

Minor League club's in the U-14 competition are Carina Redsox, who field a division 1 team and division 2 team, Southern Stars, who field a division 2 team and Toowoomba Rangers, who field a division 2 team.
