Greater than 60

The >60 (Greater than 60) Design Centre was set up in January 2008 as Singapore's National Design Centre for Ageing. Supported by Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), SPRING Singapore and Temasek Polytechnic, the Centre generates products and services that will improve the lifestyle quality of the emerging ageing population.[1]

Functions

>60 Design Centre generates ideas and research for development and commercialisation. It also provides design consultation to develop products for the elderly. The design centre organises seminars, workshops and conferences to generate public and industry interest in designing for elderly.[2]

Design Process

The Centre’s design process includes market study and research, concept development, testing of concepts, prototyping, product analysis and evaluation and final review by the relevant authorities.[3]
