Greatest Hits Volume 1 is a greatest hits compilation album by The Beatles which was exclusive to Australia and New Zealand. The album was compiled by EMI Australia to fill the in the gap between Rubber Soul and Revolver (much like A Collection of Beatles Oldies would in 1966 in between Revolver and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band).^[1]

A follow up album (Volume 2) was released in 1967. Both albums stayed print in Australia and New Zealand until the digitally remastered catalogue was released in 1988.

Mixes

The songs on the first release where mono fold downs of the stereo mixes, except for "She Loves You" which was only released as mono. The album was later released in 1967 in stereo.
