Green Valley Educational Institute is a co-educational, K-12 day-boarding school in Illahi bagh Srinagar, Kashmir. It is affiliated to Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education and is recognized by the State Department of Education.[1] It was established in 1991, and now has approximately 3500 students and 350 teaching faculty on its campus.[2] Arguably, the school is among the most distinguished schools of Kashmir.[3]
History
The founder Mr. M Y Wani started the school as a small contribution to the society. He did not expect much but wanted the school to be second to none.

The Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) cricket team made whole Valley by lifting the Under-14 Friendly International cricket tournament title in 2011 that featured teams from South Africa.

The Evergreen
The first edition of the school magazine The Evergreen was released on 7 December 2013.[4] It contains articles written by students and teachers, news, events and activities of the school. The articles are written in English as well as Urdu and Kashmiri.
