The Gubal is an instrument created by the company PANArt Hangbau AG.[1][2] The Gubal is an aerophone instrument. Its first appearance was in 2013.

Characteristics

Contrary to the Hang, the Gubal has the resonance opening on its top half. This allows the musician to vary the Helmholtz resonance much more than with a Hang.[1] On the bottom of the Gubal is a hemispherical extension. This extension, called the Gugel, lowers the pitch of the Helmholtz resonance to Eb2.[1]
