Jorge Guerra, known as Guerrinha (born 21 June 1959) is a Brazilian basketball coach and former basketball player.[1]

Biography

Born in Franca, in the state of São Paulo, Guerrinha debuted in basketball when he was 16, playing for Amazonas Franca. He played for clubs such as Franca Basquete, Monte Líbano and Ribeirão Preto.[2]

He was part of the Brazilian national basketball team which won the 1987 Pan American Games in Indianapolis. In the final game, the Brazilian side scored 120–115 against the home team, marking the first time the United States men's national basketball team lost a game as host and the first time it was defeated in a final game.[3]

Guerrinha had coached the clubs Ribeirão Preto/Polti/COC, ACF Campos and Bandeirantes/Rio Claro. He currently is the coach of Bauru.[4]
