Guilloume Perez-Zapata (born July 2, 1957 in Medellín, Antioquia) is a Colombian minimalist artist, self-described master of "Bolismo".[1] His work has been noted by a magazine covering North America's Southwest.[2] He is known primarily for his sculpting and painting.
Style
Works by Guilloume include bronze sculptures, oil painting, and sketches. He tends to focus on people in the community.[1] His paintings and sculpting are often simple in form. His subjects have no recognizable facial features. This accentuates the similarities between people.[3] The simplicity shows a range of human emotions, especially those shared in forms of friendship, intimate, and family relationships.[2]

Guilloume was born in Medellín, Colombia and developed an interest in art at a young age. He studied at the Institute of Bellas Artes Medellin. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1985 and settled in Sandia Park, New Mexico.[4]
