Gulara Aliyeva

Gülarə Əliyeva (Azerbaijani) or Gulara Aliyeva (November 17, 1933, Baku - July 27, 1991) was a well-known Azerbaijani musician, pianist[1] and Master Musicologist of Arts. ([1966])

Life

Gulara Aziz kızı Aliyeva (Gulara Aliyeva, daughter of Aziz, according to Azerbaijani name-surname convention) was born on 17th of November of 1933 in Baku, in the family of Aziz Aliyev and Leyli Aliyeva. She got her bachelor music education at [Azerbaijan State Conservatory] (now Baku Music Academy).Graduated in [1955] and started her music career at [Folk instruments Ensemble named after [Said Rustamov]] ,also began working at Folk Instruments Ensemble after [Ahsan Dadashov].In [1966] she created her own [Instrumental] [Ensemble] and called it ["Dan ulduzu"] which means ["Dawn star"].She played piano and directed this ensemble many years long.

Gulara Aliyeva also started writing some compositions for her ensemble that consisted not only European music instruments but also [Azerbaijan] and [Orient ethnic instruments].Among them there are [Shushtar] [Rapsody] , [Humayun] [Suite], [Fantasies [Bayaty-Kurd] and [Shur] based on mughams with the same names. Also Gulara Aliyeva was very talented in arranging [folk songs] for ensemble. She travelled with "Dawn star" in [Algeria], [Syria], [Lebanon], [Angola], [Italy], [Bulgaria], [Ethyopia], [Switzerland], [India], /*Finland*/ and other countries and got huge success during that years.In [1960's] Gulara Aliyeva started her pedagogical career at [Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts] ,during [1966-1988] she was Chief of [Music theory] [Faculty].

In [1991],on [27th of July] , departing her husband, well-known [culturolog] [Adil Adilov] to [Moscow] clynic, Gulara Aliyeva, her little daughter Nurida and talented [cello] player of ensemble "Dawn star", Minira, entered balcony of her house in an old building and under dangerous circumstances balcony fell apart that ended Gulara Aliyeva's life.
