Classes
Because Gunston is such a small school and has an average student/teacher ratio of 6,[1] class sizes tend to be quite small. On average, Freshman classes have about 40 members, while seniors will sometimes have as few as 20 students per class.
The school took part in the GLOBE Program by collecting environmental data from April 1995 onwards.[2]
As of August 16, 2011, Gunston Day School was formally reincorporated as The Gunston School.
Sports
Sailing
The sailing team competes in regatta's against teams in MDISA league of the MASSA conference through ISSA. The Varsity team is coached by Mr. Clarke, and the Junior Varsity team is coached by history teacher, Mr. Granger.
