Guruvarajapet is a village in Vellore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Scientific Research Center

The P.A.Sekar scientific Research center was established by Mr P.A.Sekar, scientist in guruvarajapet arakkonam taluk. It was established for promotion of new invention[1][2] in rural business like textile weaving and agriculture. and This scientific research center got Best Invention Award 2014 and the foundar Mr P.A.Sekar delivered his speech in Indian Institute of Technology Madras about his new invention in handloom and powerloom Industry [3]

Tamil is widely spoken among the native villagers. Telugu is prevalent among few people who is staying near by.

A Majority of people in this village is engaged in weaving and the village remains one of the principle lungi manufacturing villages in the Vellore district.

In this village most of the peoples are having power looms in their home. Nowadays many number of peoples are studying and working across all over world, many students are studying engg in all over Tamil Nadu

Significance

Kalyanasundaranar stayed in this village for a brief period with Mangalam Kizhar. Saint Kirupanandha Variyar had visited Guruvarajapet often.

Weaving is the major occupation of Guruvarajapet. People are engaged in Handloom and Power loom weaving. Besides weaving, agriculture is another occupation of the town with rice and sugarcane being the regular cultivation crops.
