Guy Learmonth (born 20 April 1992 in Berwick-upon-Tweed[1]) is a Scottish athlete specialising in the 800 metres.[2] He reached the final at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 European Indoor Championships, finishing 6th in both. He was crowned British 800m Indoor Champion in 2015.

Before turning to athletics at age 17, he practiced rugby for the Border Reivers.[1]

Career

Guy Learmonth's first major athletics competition was the 2011 European Athletics Junior Championships. He competed in the 800 metres event making the semi-final and coming an overall place of 13th. In 2014, Learmonth competed in the Commonwealth Games achieving 6th place in the 800 metres with a personal best time of 1:46.69. In 2015, Learmonth was crowned British 800m Indoor Champion before going on to finishing 6th in the final at the 2015 European Indoor Championships in Prague, Czech Republic.
