Héctor Canaveri (18551900s) was an Argentine politician, chief of police and military.[1]

Biography

Canaveri was born in Barracas, Buenos Aires, his father Francisco Canaveri was Lieutenant of Cavalry in the Argentine Confederation.[2] His mother Orfelia Segrestan, was daughter of a French merchant. In 1876 Canaveri was appointed Second lieutenant of the Argentine Army. Its designation bore the signatures of then-President Nicolás Avellaneda and his Minister of War Adolfo Alsina.[3] He militated in National Autonomist Party, holding the position of legislator of Buenos Aires province in 1890s.[4]
