Bergen University College (Norwegian: Høgskolen i Bergen or HiB) is a Norwegian public institution of higher education, established in August 1994 by the merging of six former independent colleges in Bergen, Norway. The total number of students is about 7700, and there are 750 academic and administrative staff.[1] Its main campus is in the Kronstad neighborhood of Bergen.
Bergen University College provides professional education within health and social sciences, engineering, economic and administrative science, music and teaching. It offers education on the Bachelor and Master levels, continuing education, and on the Doctoral level.
Since mid-2015, there has been much discussion in Norwegian media of Bergen University College's intentions to combine with two other state institutes to form a larger higher education institution in western Norway for which the name "Bergen University of Applied Sciences" is publicly proposed.[2]

Centres
HiB emphasizes professional studies, but also offers postgraduate programs through the doctoral level in some fields, and currently has six research centers [3] to support its specialized postgraduate programs, providing opportunities for PhD research:

- Center of Innovation
- Center for Care Research, West Norway
- Center for Educational Research
- Centre for New Media
