H. E. Eastman
H. E. Eastman was mayor of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Biography
Eastman was born Harry Eugene Eastman on March 25, 1819, in Maine.[1] He married Elizabeth Margaret Arndt, with whom he had six children. During the American Civil War, he served with the 2nd Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Cavalry of the Union Army, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel. Among the incidents he took part in was the Siege of Vicksburg. Eastman died in 1898.
Political career
In 1849, Eastman was an unsuccessful candidate for the Wisconsin State Senate. He was later elected trustee of Green Bay in 1851. Eastman would served as mayor in 1856 and 1857.
