HMS Industrial Networks is an international company within industrial communications headquartered in Halmstad, Sweden. HMS is listed on the OMX-Nordic Stock Exchange, employs over 350 people in ten countries and reported sales of 57 million EUR 2013.[1]
Products
HMS manufactures and markets industrial communication products which connect industrial devices to different industrial networks. HMS products act as translators between robots, control systems, motors, sensors, etc. and the different industrial networks that exist on the market (fieldbuses and Industrial Ethernet). HMS also offers products for Remote Management - web-based control of field equipment such as Power Generators, Tanks, Telecom Base Stations, Buildings etc.
HMS markets products under the following brands:
- Anybus solutions. Embedded network cards and stand-alone gateways which connect different industrial devices to industrial networks.[2]
- IXXAT solutions. Connectivity solutions especially for CAN, automotive and test systems.[3]
- Netbiter solutions. Remote management and control of field devices over the web.[4]
Organization and history
HMS has operations in ten countries: (Sweden (Halmstad - HQ), Germany (Karlsruhe), USA (Chicago), Japan (Shin-Yokohama), Denmark (Copenhagen), China (Beijing), Italy (Milano), France (Mulhouse), UK (Coventry),[5] and India (Pune). In addition, distributors in 50 countries resell the HMS products on local markets.
HMS was founded in 1988 by Nicolas Hassbjer (hence HMS = Hassbjer MicroSystems) and has been deemed "Export Company of the Year" by the Swedish Trade Council.[6]
