Hairspray Live! is an upcoming live musical, based on the 2002 Broadway musical of the same, scheduled to air on NBC on December 7, 2016. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are producers of the project.[1]

The creatives involved are Kenny Leon, director, Jerry Mitchell, choreographer, and Harvey Fierstein as script adaptor. The chairman of NBC Entertainment said: "In keeping with our desire to bring the best of Broadway to our live musicals, we've assembled the Broadway dream team of Tony Award winners for Hairspray Live."[2]
