Hal Lester (born April 13, 1955) is an American jazz and rock lead guitarist, and a graphic artist.
Biography
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Lester grew up in Massapequa, New York, and trained with future Grammy and Na Hoku Hanohano Awards winner, Dave Tucciarone. He went on to study music at the Berklee College of Music, graduating in 1977.[1]
Lester has played, recorded, toured and produced many famous bands. He has also created many magazine and CD covers around the world. He has worked with Pat Caddick,[2] Wayne Newton and Danny Gans. He has also played with Scott Freilich, who was bass player for Ani Difranco on her Puddle Dive CD.[3] Lester's latest projects include a new CD dedicated to his late father.
As a graphic designer Lester has designed covers for Palm Springs Life[4] and other magazines and CD covers,[1] and created the graphics for the cover logo of Scott Freilich's band The Headers.[5] Lester's work has been displayed in the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Lester has recently been awarded V.I.P. Head Adviser Membership Acknowledgment Status Award by MyLesPaul forum, which stated "We are pleased to announce our first VIP status award (there will be more to come). This is for members who we feel are a great value & asset to our community. Someone who may not be in the limelight but has stood up in their efforts to help make us what we are."[6]
Lester has received membership of the Grammy Recording Academy.[7]
