Half Tree Hollow is a suburb of Jamestown, Saint Helena, a British island territory in the South Atlantic Ocean. The village is situated at the top of Ladder Hill which forms part of James Valley, at the base of which sits Jamestown. Connecting the two settlements is the hillside stairway of Jacob's Ladder. The village developed during the 1960s as a consequence of Jamestown's location at the base of the James Valley, a narrow strip of flatland with inadequate space for the construction of further housing.
