Hama District

Hama District, within Hama Governorate.
Hama District (Arabic: منطقة ØÙ…اة‎ ḤamÄ) is a district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Hama Governorate, Syria. At the time of the 2004 Census, it had a population of 644,445.[1] Its administrative centre is the city of Hama.
Sub-districts
The district of Hama is divided into four sub-districts or NÄḥiyas (population according to 2004 official census):
- Hama Nahiyah (ناØÙŠØ© ØÙ…اة): population 467,254.[2]
- Suran Nahiyah (ناØÙŠØ© صوران): population 90,654.[3]
- Hirbnafsah Nahiyah (ناØÙŠØ© ØØ±Ø¨Ù†Ùسه): population 54,592.[4]
- Al-Hamraa Nahiyah (ناØÙŠØ© الØÙ…راء): population 32,604.[5]
