Hanbat National University established in 1927 under the mottos of Sincerity, Harmony and Creativity is one of national universities in the Republic of Korea. We are located in Daejeon Metropolitan City in the central area of the Republic of Korea. Daejeon with more than 1.5million people is the 5th largest city of Korea and is called "City of Science and Technology" because Daedeok Innopolis(National R&D Institutes Complex) similar to Silicon Valley in U.S.A. is situated.

Through the tireless efforts since 1927, we have been developing and transforming and now being recognized as one of prestigious universities in name and in reality in Korea. We consist of 5 colleges and 2 faculties: College of Engineering, College of Information Technology, College of Construction, Environment & Design, College of Humanities, College of Business and Economics, Faculty of Liberal Arts Education, Faculty of Global Convergence Studies. We are now offering doctoral & master courses and bachelor's courses in the entire academic fields of colleges mentioned above. Now more than 10,000 students are studying hard under positive support of excellent faculties and staff.

HBNU has been devoting to the cultivation of competitive and skilled human resources with theory and practice under assistance of various innovative educational systems such as Interdisciplinary Education, Capstone Design, Fields Practice Training Course, Collaboration with small and medium-sized companies, Industrial Relation Program, Promotion of Entrepreneurship Clubs, and so on. Especially, through the ABEEK system(Accreditation Board of Engineering Education of Korea) equivalent to the ABET(Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) in U.S.A. HBNU students who take the academic courses in this system are being recognized home and abroad as qualified personnel and welcomed to research institutes and industries. Also, Hanbat has been awarded a number of nationally fund-supported projects like "LINC(Leaders in Industry-University Cooperation)", "UECI(Universities Education Capability Improvement)", etc., which make us strongly involved in developing very innovative and talented personnel who Korean societies and industries desperately need, along with various benefits and supports. Above all, we are really strong in the field of Academia and University Collaboration through very close relationship with national research institutions and more than 1,300 companies in Daejeon and Chungcheong Province as well as various kinds of national projects such as LINC, ECIP(Establishment of Campus at Industrial Park), AIC(Academic and Industrial Cooperation), SAA(Seoul Accord Activation), etc.

Another goal is to be an internationally recognized and competitive educational institution home and abroad. At present more than 400 students are participating in various international programs such as students exchange program, students visiting program, credits transfer program, dual degree program, language and culture experience program, work-on experience program, etc... Also, we are inviting and welcoming international students at any time through cooperation with the partner universities and institution abroad. Presently, over 300 students are being enrolled and studying in various majors.

Thanks to those achievements and efforts, the university is surely thought as "very competitive and presitigious university in the academia-industry collaboration", "one of the best universities", "Highly ranked in the nationwide job employment rate in the range of 2,000 graduates ~ 3,000 graduates" through Universities General Evaluation and National Universities Evaluation for Innovation by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology(MEST) and Korean Council for University Education.
