Hanna Jaff Bosdet (born November 4, 1986) is the Deputy Secretary of Immigrants in the Institutional Revolutionary Party in Mexico.[1]

Biography

Jaff was born in San Diego, California, and raised in Tijuana, Mexico. She holds a MA in International Relations from Harvard University, a BA in Psychology from the National University (California). She has minors and studies in Political Science, Criminology and French at the universities of Columbia University in New York, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey, and La Sorbonne University of Paris. In March 2014, she was given two honorary doctorate degrees from the American Cultural Institute and Claustro Doctoral in Mexico .[2][3][4]

Her mother is Mexican and her father is Kurdish. She considers herself to live in three cultures: Mexican, American, and Kurdish.[5] Jaff’s family on her father's side of the Jaff tribe are known for political involvement in Kurdistan Government since the year 1114. Mohamed Pasha Jaff, her great-great grandfather was a Pasha, a noble title, appointed by the Ottoman Empire in the 1700s. Her great grandmother was Lady Adela.[2][6][7][8][9]

Career

During the first three months of 2013, Jaff was the Tourist Ambassador of the state of Morelos, Mexico. She is currently Deputy Secretary of Immigrants and a member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party in Mexico.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] She founded the Jaff Foundation for Education on June 4, 2013 and has conducted thirty-two charity events since its inception. As well as written and published two English learning books to benefit those in need. [2][18][19]

Jaff is an international conference speaker in topics of women and youths. In early 2014, the Kurdish Government of the state of Garmiyán presented her with six prizes for her invaluable support, naming her the Honorary Representative of the Garmiyán Kurdistan for Latin America.[20]
