Hans Neuberger

Hans Hermann Neuberger (1910–1996)[1] was head of Pennsylvania State University's Department of Meteorology.[1]

Born in Mannheim, Germany, he received a doctorate from the University of Hamburg in 1936 and emigrated to the US in 1937, beginning his career as an instructor of geophysics.[1] His skills in the creation and use of instrumentation were notable; he designed a polarimeter.[2] He retired in 1970 but continued to teach at the University of South Florida.[1] Penn State established the Hans Neuberger teaching award in 1972.[3]
