Hans Rasmus Astrup

Hans Rasmus Astrup.

Hans Rasmus Astrup (17 April 1831 in Bolsøy – 19 February 1898) was an industrial entrepreneur, philanthropist and was a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. He was Minister of Labour 1885-1887, and member of the Council of State Division in Stockholm 1887–1888.[1]

Astrup was a merchant before entering Sverdrup Cabinet in 1885. He resigned on 17 February 1888.[2]

He was the son of Ebbe Carsten Tønder Astrup (1794–1888), who was mayor of Bolsøy for four years.[3]
