Harak Singh Rawat (born 15 December 1960) is a member of the Legislative assembly of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly in India. He belongs to the Congress Party.[1][2][3] He became youngest Minister of U.P State In year 1991 won assembly election from Pauri. Currently candidate of INC from Garhwal in Indian general election, 2014.
Early life and education
Rawat has completed post graduation in Arts in year 1984 and Doctor of Philosophy in Military Science from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Shrinagar, Uttarakhand in year 1996.[4]
Politics
- In year 2012 elected elected form Rudraprayag Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha.
- In year 2007 elected as Leader of opposition Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha.[5]
- In year 2007 got re-elected form Lansdowne Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha.
- In year 2002 after winning form Lansdowne Constituency was designated Cabinet Minister of four department- Revenue, Revenue, Food & Civil Supplies, Disaster Management and Rehabilitation.
- In year 2002 got elected as MLA from 32 Lansdowne Vidhan Sabha Constituency
- In year 1997 got appointed as member of Uttar Pradesh Congress Working Committee.
- From year 1997 till date member of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee.
- In year 1997 got appointed as Vice-Chairman (Cabinet Rank) in Uttar Pradesh Khadi Gram Udyog Board.
- In year 1993 got re-elected as M.L.A from Pauri Assembly
- From 1991-93 was youngest Tourism Minister in U.P.
- In year 1991 won assembly election from Pauri and became youngest Minister of U.P State.
