Harini Ravi (born 20 December 1994) is a Chennai based Singer and Dubbing Artiste. She is the daughter of Veteran Violinist V.V. Ravi and Visalam Ravi.

Personal life and education

She completed her higher secondary education at Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya School in Mylapore. When Plus Two CBSE results were announced on 28 May 2012 she was among the school toppers.[1] She won many prizes and awards in school level and from many reputed institutions for music, sports, painting, Bhagavath Gita competitions and in Academics as well.

Career

She has given voice for more than 2000 ad films in English as well as South Indian languages and North Indian languages and also has sung more than 2500 Jingles[2][3]

Harini Ravi began training of Carnatic Music with her father and mother as a child, and gave her first voice over as a dubbing artiste at the age of six.

She is learning music under the tutelage of her father V.V. Ravi and brother V.R. Raghava Krishna, who is also a Carnatic Vocalist. Another of her milestones include solo song recordings for devotional and patriotic songs.

She has performed in various music programmes like Sun TV’s Saptha swarangal, Jaya TV’s Raagamaalika, Podhigai’s Aaha Paadalaam etc, and won the first prize.

She has sung solo and duet songs in the Album ‘Shout it Out’ conceived by UNICEF[4] in association with NalandaWay Foundation which was released by the then Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala.

She has sung chorus and solo songs for reputed music directors like Ilaiyaraja, A R Rahman, Vidyasagar, Iman, K. Bhagyaraj, Dhina, Vijay Antony, Kavi periyathambi and so on.[5]

Her solo songs in Mainaa and Muthuku Muthaaka got good audience response. She has also sung a solo title song for the movie Kanda Naal Mudhalai in Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music. She is a graded Child artiste in All India Radio Chennai.
