Harold Beamish

Harold Francis Beamish (1896 - 1986) was a flying ace of World War I from New Zealand. He secured 11 victories in aerial dogfights, mostly in the Sopwith Camel.[1]

Beamish was born and died in Havelock North, Hawkes Bay, and attended Wanganui Collegiate School.

He served in the R.N.A.S. and the R.A.F., reaching the rank of Captain, before returning to New Zealand where he became a sheep farmer.
