Harry H. Pratt
Harry Hayt Pratt (November 11, 1864 – November 13, 1932) was a U.S. Representative from New York.
Born in Corning, New York, Pratt attended Corning Union School and was graduated from Corning Free Academy in 1882. He served as associate editor of the Corning Weekly Journal 1882-1891 and of the Corning Daily Journal 1891-1906. He was editor of the same and manager of the Corning Journal Publishing Co. 1906-1919. Supervisor of Corning in 1898 and 1899. He served as delegate to the Republican State conventions in 1908 and 1910. Postmaster of Corning from September 8, 1905, to January 27, 1914.
Pratt was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-fourth and Sixty-fifth Congresses (March 4, 1915 – March 4, 1919). He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1918. He engaged in publicity work for the United States Department of Labor and the War Risk Insurance Bureau 1919-1921. Public relations counselor for the Erie Railroad Co. 1923-1928, and managing editor of the Erie Railroad Magazine. He served as director of the Corning Free Library and the Chamber of Commerce. He died in Corning, New York, November 13, 1932. He was interred in Hope Cemetery.
