Hassan Gurach Wario Arero (born 24 November 1970) is a Kenyan anthropologist and politician. He is the Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and the Arts of Kenya, having been appointed to the position on 25 April 2013 by President Uhuru Kenyatta.[1]
Arero hails from the Borana community.[2] He was educated at the University of Nairobi (BA, Anthropology, 1995), and won the Chevening Scholarship to pursue his Masters Degree in Advanced Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas at the University of East Anglia.[3] He completed his PhD in Anthropology at the University of East Anglia in 2013.
