Hassan Rana (born Hassan Waqas Rana), also known as Doc,[1] is a Pakistani film director, producer and screen writer. He is best known for his debut production Waar, the highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time[2] for which he won 3 awards at 1st ARY Film Awards - as the production belonged to ARY.[3] On 7 December 2013 Hassan Waqas Rana signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Salman Iqbal (founder and president ARY), for the production of two action thrillers, Waar 2 & Yalghaar to be produced and released in 2014-15.[4] He is founder of MindWorks Media.

Breach of Contract

Hassan Waqas Rana was recently booked under an FIR (First Information Report) with the Pakistani police by director of Waar, Bilal Lashari for keeping Waar's profits for himself. Apparently he transferred all cinema earnings to his personal account. The court dismissed Hassan's pre-arrest bail and police is currently searching.[5]
