Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine beach volleyball

The Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine beach volleyball team is the beach volleyball team representing the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in the NCAA Division I women's league.[1] The university has a rich volleyball tradition. They have had two head coaches since the team's inception in 2012. In 2014 under head coach Scott Wong, they appeared in the NCAA Division I Final Four. During the 2015 season, they ranked first in attendance among all Division 1 volleyball beach programs. The "Sand Bows" averaged over 330 fans, each, for six home matches. With Collegiate Beach's inception, the Bows have been ranked in every AVCA Top 10 Poll to date.[2] The university plays its home matches in the—five courted—The Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.[3]

Jeff Hall is the current head coach for the women's beach volleyball team.[4] He is also the current associate head coach of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine volleyball, as of 2015. In his rookie season of assistant coaching the Rainbow Warriors (2011), Hall took his team to the 1st round of the post-season MPSF tournament. He is one of only eight assistant coaches (as of 2016) to also lead under head coach Charlie Wade. Jeff, Charlie and the tribe further led their teams to the 1st round of the post-season MPSF tournament in 2013, going a step farther in 2015 to the NCAA championships (that year in Palo Alto, CA). The 5th-seeded Warriors were upset by the AVCA Final Polled #4 Penn State Nittany Lions men's volleyball team, placing the Warriors at a final AVCA #6.[5] The Rainbow Wahine indoor team beat 7th seeded (Elite ranked)/7-time national champions Penn State in the 2015 NCAA championships.[6]
