Hawkesbury Upton is a village in South Gloucestershire, England, east of the much smaller Hawkesbury. It lies north of Horton, east of Dunkirk and south of Alderley and Hillesley. The "Somerset Monument" is on the Cotswold Edge nearby. The monument, which was designed by Vulliamy, was constructed in 1846 as a memorial to Lord Robert Somerset of Badminton, an army general who fought at Waterloo.[1]

Hawkesbury Upton is close to the A46 road. Hawkesbury Upton is larger than Hawkesbury, which lies a little way to the west. Hawkesbury Upton lies on the Cotswold Way and exhibits many of the characteristics of a typical Cotswold village, including use of the local limestone in the majority of the buildings.

The village has two pubs - The Beaufort Arms and The Fox Inn, both on the High Street, a primary school, a village shop, a post office and a hair salon. There is also a village hall with recreation ground and a cricket club.

Hawkesbury Upton is also the home of Hawkesbury Horticultural Show which always takes place on the last Saturday in August. Hawkesbury Show has been running for over 130 years without ever being cancelled for war or adverse weather. It attracts in excess of 3,000 visitors each year and is held at the Village Hall and Recreation Ground, High Street, Hawkesbury Upton, South Gloucestershire GL9 1AU. The main attraction is the large produce marquee, full of the biggest and best fruit, vegetables and flowers, as well as home baking, varied crafts, home made wine & beer, original photographs and pictures – all produced by the local community. The show is organised entirely by volunteers and also includes entertainment in the arena, craft, trade and charity stalls, a hog & deer roast and fairground rides. In 2015, Hawkesbury Show was listed in The Daily Telegraph's list of the best things to do over the August Bank Holiday.

The village is also home to world-renowned football club, the Hawkesbury Stallions. Notable alumni of the Stallions' Recreation Ground include the likes of Bill Stephens - not to be mistaken for Liverpool F.C. great Jamie Stephens - and George Setterfield. The club plays in the Stroud and District League Division 6.
