Headup Games GmbH & Co. KG (hereinafter - Headup Games) is a video game publisher company located in Düren, Germany. Headup Games has published games for several platforms, including PC and Mac, as well as iOS and Android.

Since its foundation in 2009, Headup Games has received multiple awards as a company and for its games, including the Best German Publisher award in 2012[1] & 2013,[2] and the best action game with Trapped Dead[3] as well as the Best German game in 2014.[4] They are also known for the Bridge Constructor Series.[5] Headup Games has published over 70 SKUs[6] in Germany and internationally.

History

On May 12, 2009, Headup Games announced that the company has entered into a contract with NBG Multimedia, which distributes products for mobile phones. The contract includes the rights to physical distribution of the ten products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.[7]

May 1, 2010, The company announced that they will publish Crenetic Studio's tactical real-time strategy game Trapped Dead.[8]

Headup Games announced the sequel to Grotesque Tactics, Grotesque Tactics 2: Dungeons & Donuts on February 8, 2011.[9]

Headup Games announced Sniper Boy on June 22, 2011, which was their first Mobile game.[10]

On November 4, 2011 they announced that they will release the Indie-Hits Terraria and The Binding of Isaac for retail.[11]

On May 22 they released Sci-Fighters on iOS and Android in collaboration with indie developer FlukeDude who is well known for "The Impossible Game".[12]

Bridge Constructor, the first game in the series, was released on May 24, 2012, and would gain over thirty million players worldwide.[13]

On April 11, 2013 they announced Shiney the Firefly for Android and iOS.[14]

On July 18, 2013, Headup Games released The Inner World for retail and through Amazon.[15]

On August 6, 2014 they gave the first sneak peek on Typoman, an upcoming sidescroller plattformer.[16]

On January 15, 2015 Pixel Heroes: Byte and Magic was announced, and soon thereafter released.[17]
