HealthKart, a part of Bright Lifecare Pvt. Ltd. is an online portal for Dietary supplements and health devices in the Health care industry in India. Prashant Tandon and Sameer Maheshwari founded the company in 2011.[1]
Acquisitions
For expansion in health and nutrition category, HealthKart announced an agreement with Optimum Nutrition(ON), which is a premium sports nutrition brand globally benefitting Indian customers looking for sports and nutrition products at their door steps.
HealthKart acquired online fitness and bodybuilding community and supplement store MadeInHealth in 2012, the acquisition was made towards the expansion of Fitness, Weight gain, Weight loss etc categories further in the e-health space.[2]
Medicine search engine app
The company operates HealthKartPlus (re-branded to 1 mg), a generic medicine search engine application, which helps users to understand medicines better.[3] The app had more than 500000 downloads as on April 27, 2016.[4] HealthKart has its smartphone application for Android, iOS and Windows devices.
