The Heart of the Universe is a fictional object in the Marvel Universe and appeared in publications from Marvel Comics.
Publication history
The Heart of the Universe featured in the limited series Marvel: The End #1-6 (May-Aug 2003), written by Jim Starlin and art by Al Milgrom.
Powers and abilities
The Heart of the Universe is a means by which one can be "synchronized" with the "frequency" of the Marvel Universe, becoming one with all aspects. When the Titan Thanos merged with the Heart he claimed he became the individual thoughts of each and every sentient being and "...the last breath of a dying woman". Due to Thanos' "experience" in channeling vast amounts of energy, such as that of the Cosmic Cube and the Infinity Gems, he was capable of directly merging with the Heart. Unlike Thanos, Akhenaten, who at a previous time had come into possession of the Heart, had to rely on machinery to siphon off small portions of energy.[1]
Notes
Marvel's Executive Editor Tom Brevoort has stated on his Tumblr blog that "Marvel Universe: The End" is not in any way a part of the primary Marvel continuity.[2][3]
