Heidi Ewing is a director, producer, and writer of documentary films. She and Rachel Grady founded Loki Films in 2001, and have collaborated on several documentaries together.^[1] Detropia won two awards, Outstanding Direction and Outstanding Original Score, at the 2013 Cinema Eye Honors for Nonfiction Filmmaking.^[2] She won a 2008 Women of Vision Award.

Life

Ewing is a native of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and is a graduate of Mercy High School^[3] and the Georgetown School of Foreign Service.^[4]
