Heikant, Alphen-Chaam

Heikant is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Alphen-Chaam,[1] about 2 km northeast of Chaam.[2]

According to the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa,[3] Heikant (or "De Heikant") consisted of 37 houses and had a population of 230 in the middle of the 19th century. The Roman Catholic Church of the parish of Chaam used to be in this hamlet, but it was moved to the village of Chaam in 1842.

Heikant should not be confused with any of the other hamlets named Heikant in the Netherlands.
