Heist or Hit Records is an independent record label located in London and Manchester, founded in 2007.[1] Its most notable signees are The Answering Machine, LoveLikeFire, Rapids! and Pomegranates.

In 2009, the label signed the aforementioned Pomegranates for a UK distribution deal for the group's Everybody, Come Outside album[2]

In 2010, the label released a limited edition 7" single 'Bloodshot Days' for the UK band The Crookes.

During the same year, the label was selected as DIY Label of the Week by Huw Stephens on his BBC Radio 1 show[1]

In 2011, the label signed 3 new acts, Skint & Demoralised from Wakefield, Letting Up Despite Great Faults from Los Angeles and Simian Ghost from Sweden. In November 2011 the label was Bethan Elfyn's choice for her 'Label it Up’ feature on Amazing Radio.[3] In February 2012, Brooklyn band Dinowalrus were signed by the label.[4]

The label's first release was The Answering Machine single 'Cliffer', released in 2009.[5]

In March 2013, the label signed the Swedish band, First Love, Last Rites[6] and in July 2013 signed the Sheffield band, High Hazels.[7] Later in 2013, the label signed Los Angeles band Northern American who recorded their debut album in 2014 (released May 2015) with producer, Raymond Richards renowned for his work with Local Natives.[8]
