Helen Homans McLean (1878/9 – March 29, 1949)^[1] was an American tennis champion.

Life and career

Homans won the doubles title at the 1905 U.S. National Championship^[2] (now called the U.S. Open) and the singles title the next year.^[3]

Homans played mixed doubles with Marshall McLean as early as 1902^[4] and later married him at New York City in 1907.^[5] In mixed doubles, she reached the semifinals partnering Harry F. Allen in 1905.^[6]

Homans was still ranked 4th in 1913 and 3rd in 1915 in the U.S. national ranking.^[7] In 1915, she won the U.S. Indoor Tennis Championship.
